Alaska is this extraordinary little girl that I met at church who brings such a huge amount of joy into my life. She is such a key reason as to why I am happy everyday. She gives me the hope to keep going and always do everything with kindness and love.
Every moment spent with her is such a thrill. Every time we see each other, she always runs up to me – sometimes pushing me down to the floor because of excitement – and yells, ” VIKKIII!!!”
The first day I met her, I was filled with enthusiasm. She was too young at the time to recall what happened, but I can clearly remember every second of it.
So at my church, there is this service prayer called “Christ Candles.” A person would pray at the cross with a candle that represented Christ’s light and once they were done praying, they would give a candle to the person they saw Christ in. During the night, I gave a candle to Alaska’s father, Chris. Chris hugged me and took Alaska with him to the cross to pray. Once they finished, Chris gave the candle to Alaska and told her to give it to someone. Out of everyone in he room, she chose me!
I was completely out of shock. I thought she did so because I gave it to her father beforehand, but still, it was such an exhilarating moment. Why’d she choose me? I felt so honored, and still do to this very day.
And as of now, I am her best friend, and she is mine, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so grateful to be apart of her life in this point in time, it’s such a blessing – so I thank you God. I can’t wait to see her grow and be the amazing woman I know she’ll become.
