In the video by LA Times, “Expired? Food waste in America,” there is an ongoing topic of how perfectly fine food that could’ve helped feed people in need, is just being dumped straight into the trash.
Why is this happening? Why is there a law that makes cartons of milk be so called ‘expired’ about a week before it’s actual expiration date?
Tons of gallons of milk are thrown out due to regulation laws that prohibit stores from keeping them or giving them away. All of that milk…. just simply gone. An item that was perfectly useful easily just went to useless.
